nanummik Consulting was founded by Olivia Letemplier, an Inuk and Innu woman with more than 30 years of lived and professional experience bridging worlds — interpreting, translating, and helping others find common ground.

Olivia’s Inuk roots are in the self-governing region of Nunatsiavut and her Innu roots are in Nitassinan, the ancestral land of the Innu of eastern Quebec and Labrador.

For more than three decades working in politics and within many federal government departments, she has held senior roles negotiating with provinces and territories, the United States government and internationally on matters such as national security, entry and exit requirements and marine cargo processing.

Most recently Olivia led a team at Indigenous Services Canada that worked exclusively with Indigenous organizations that provide programs and services to Indigenous Peoples in urban centres. This role validated Olivia’s own experience and understanding of the barriers to the meaningful advancement of Indigenous rights in this country.

Olivia lives by core Indigenous values of truth, honesty, courage, respect and humility. She brings these values into everything she does and meets people, organizations and businesses where they are.

Reconciliation can be advanced in the smallest of ways and Olivia believes in working together to create spaces that reflect the realities and level of readiness for Indigenous learning, partnership, and thriving.

By offering a suite of customizable services based on decades of work experience and a lifetime of being an Indigenous woman challenging colonial processes and structures, Olivia is adept at identifying gaps and building foundations that empower others to implement meaningful change.

Her work is deeply guided by spirit, community, and the belief that understanding begins with listening. In her experience working within systems and alongside communities, she’s learned how to navigate both worlds — Indigenous and non-Indigenous — with care, clarity, and respect.
